How do they get away with it you may wonder? They do not. Not for long anyway. You see there are some very good quality fakes being sold, that are so good that only the manufacturer can tell the difference sometimes.

If a seller is called on a questionable item they usually are good at giving you your money back.

Other vendors are simply having their auctions shut down.

Where do they get these fakes you may wonder? A lot of it comes from China, but some are made right here in the USA.

One place in America that is overflowing with fake Chanels, Nike, Coach etc is New York. The prices there are often even lower than the Chinese wholesalers who are advertising online.

I would advice anyone to stay clear of the Chinese wholesalers who sell fake merchandise. Most of these are scams. There are some out there who deliver the merchandise as ordered but they are few and far between. As a rule of thumb never deal with any merchant who only accepts Money Order, Bank Transfer or any payment other than Credit Card or PayPal. They may entice you with promises and low prices but you have been warned.

I think the reason why so many are drawn to selling the designer stuff is because it seems like easy money. There are so many other things you could sell that are legal and that do not have so many competitors. It may take a bit more work to find such items but the rewards are worth it.

Ever since Google's announced the beta test of a free online web-based email service that would offer huge storage limits, a lot more email service providers are making the news trying to race Google out. For example, Spymac has been offering the service for a while now, and some hebrew portal was about to launch something similar. Yahoo! is about to offer slightly increased mailbox size. Lycos Europe has already increased their limit to 1gb.

Maybe in an attempt to counter-attack the competition, Google decided to increased their previously announced 1gb limit to 1tb!! That's right, **ONE TERABYTE** of data (mostly email)! :-D

For example, I sell a lot of used clothing on Ebay when I can not find anything else. Clothing is a reliable source of income for me, and something which is fairly easy to fall back on. Now when I look at the current Ebay Pulse list, it shows the top ten items that are selling best on eBay under Clothing, Shoes and Accessories:

1. coach

2. nike shoes

3. louis vuitton

4. gucci

5. chanel

6. prada

7. abercrombie

8. juicy couture

9. shoes

10. hollister


Now I know I am not going to run across Coach, or Louis Vuitton products very often, but things like Juicy Couture, Hollister, and Abercrombie are fairly common. The top 10 lists get narrowed down even further. Most of the clothes I find are women's, so it makes sense for me to know what the most popular selling women's clothing is:

1. abercrombie

2. rock & republic

3. diesel

4. lucky

5. hollister

6. juicy couture

7. bebe

8. banana republic

9. american eagle

10. bcbg


This list is far more accessible than the previous one. The least common thing to find here is rock & republic, and the others are fairly common. I have a list of these brands memorized now, but I used to print them out and take them with me on my clothes shopping adventures.

Another good idea to find out what brand names are selling well on eBay is to watch TV. For example, there are always Gap and Old Navy commercials on. Every time there is a commercial on TV it is advertising partially for you. Even though Gap and Old Navy are not on the list, they are more common than anything found above, and sell through very well. Sometimes surprisingly well! I am always pleasantly surprised whenever I buy a used pair of Old Navy Jeans and sell them for $10-$20.

Other places to look for popular brands are at some of the trendiest stores. Look to the mall, Macy's, Bloomingdales, Pacsun, Urban Outfitters etc... It is their job to find the best selling brands and stock the store with them. It is a good idea to search through their stores and note the brands which they are selling. And don't feel like you have to go to the mall, check out their websites!

These sorts of strategies should work when looking for any item. Look to eBay Pulse in the category you like to sell in, and also think about what kinds of stores sell similar products you are looking to sell.

It is all so easy, and well worth the time spent. Keep a notebook!

Paris is abuzz with preparation for Haute Couture Week which kicks off on Monday. As international press, editors and high brow couture clients prepare to enjoy the bi-annual extravaganza of fashion supersights, from the likes of John Galliano at Dior, Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, Valentino and Julien Macdonald at Givenchy, some fashionistas are simply gearing up for a week of seriously glamorous parties.

Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Taylor (wife of John Taylor of Duran-Duran) founded Juicy Couture in 1994. The company started as a designer T-Shirt company. The look of the company changed drastically in 1999 with tho companies entrance into the denim and sportswear market. Next came the item the company is most famous for, 'The Track Suit.' The item came in velour, terry cloth, and cashmere. The elements that made these suits so famous was there low riding draw string pants and form fitting zip up hoodies in a variety of mouthwatering colors. Skaist-Levy and Taylor, according to most fashion magazines, have made there track suit as popular as the little black dress.

In 2003 Juicy Couture was purchased by Liz Claiborne, Inc. for an undisclosed multi-million dollar sum. Quite an accomplishment for a company that sold track suits, 'Juicy loves Martha' T Shirts, and ruffled velvet tube dresses. All of Juicy Couture items are manufactured with the companies signature logo, too highland terriers holding a shield bearing three hearts and love P&G (Pat and Gela) Juicies creators. A crown lies overhead while a Juicy Couture banner flutters below the underline slogan, 'Made in the Glamorous USA'

Juicy Couture's label has reached the heights of such labels as Gucci, Guess and DKNY. This was accomplished by a brilliant marketing ploy. They cultivated relationships with the Hollywood community and invited top celebrities such as JLO, Cameron Diaz and Madonna to shop for Free. Then they had these famous women have there pictures taken with these items and this concept raised the label to the status of, 'Chic Couture.'

Fast forward to today and under the Liz Claiborne aegis, Juicy Couture markets many items under many categories. They have both men and womens collections, children's collections as well as a mix of fashion accessories including jewelry, handbags and swim wear.

In the last 14 years we have seen many changes but one thing that hasn't is Skaist-Levy and Taylor are still at the head of this most prosperous organization as co-presidents.
